“Furiosa” at Screenville 

        The fifth installment in George Miller’s blockbuster “Mad Max” film series serving as both a spin-off and prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road” in 2015, “Furiosa” is still showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.   

         Set about 20 years before the events of “Mad Max: Fury Road”, young Furiosa (Alyla Browne) is kidnapped from her lush, verdant homeland and delivered into the hands of warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth-“Thor” films) who leads an army of bike-riding scavengers across the Wasteland.

         When Dementus overthrows the Citadel, the fortress run by Immortan Joe (Lachy Hulme), it’s soon an all-out war for dominance between the two madmen. Furiosa is caught in between and must survive and puts together the means to escape and find her way home, and exact her revenge on Dementus.   

        Golden Globe winning American actress Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Queen’s Gambit” TV Series) stars as the Imperator Furiosa which was portrayed by Charlize Theron in the previous film.  

“FURIOSA” is still showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

“Bad Boys 4” at Screenville 

        The fourth installment in the “Bad Boys” film series and a sequel to “Bad Boys for Life” in 2020, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” will premiere worldwide on Wednesday, June 5, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.   

            Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reprise their roles respectively as detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett who are investigating corruption within the Miami Police Department. 

        But when their late Captain Conrad Howard (Joe Pantoliano) is posthumously accused or framed up of being involved with the Romanian Mafia, a setup turns Mike and Marcus into fugitives forcing them to work outside the law in order to solve the case.

        Unfortunately, as they are now suspects themselves, they must work also to clear their names, while at the same time try to uncover a massive conspiracy involving drug cartels and the Miami police force. 

“BAD BOYS: RIDE OR DIE” will premiere on Wednesday, June 5, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
