Tagbilaran City bags four BLGF regional awards

Tagbilaran City was honored with four prestigious awards during the Pasidungog sa Siete 2024 of the Bureau of Local Government Finance Region VII.

The event, held at Golden Peak Hotel & Suites in Cebu City from June 4-7, 2024, recognized the city’s outstanding performance in revenue generation and local assessment.

City Assessor Fe Almiñe was awarded as the Top 1 Performing City Assessor among the 16 cities in Central Visayas for Revenue Generation in Assessment Operations for FY 2023.

This accolade highlights the city’s exceptional efforts in optimizing its assessment operations, contributing significantly to local revenue.

City Treasurer Hubert Inas also received an award for surpassing the local government unit (LGU) Revenue Performing Targets for 2023.

His office achieved remarkable efficiency ratings: Fees and Charges at 197.41%, Real Property Tax at 134.63%, Business Tax at 105.25%, and Receipts from Economic Enterprises at 110.42%.

These achievements underscore the city’s effective revenue collection strategies and fiscal management.

Additionally, two other city employees were honored with the Director’s Citation Award. Ms. Imelda Bordon of the City Treasurer’s Office was recognized as the Outstanding City Electronic Statement of Receipts and Expenditures (eSRE) Focal Person, while Mr. Xader Hei Ungab was awarded the Outstanding City Quarterly Report on Real Property Assessment (QRRPA) Focal Person.

Their dedication and exemplary performance in their respective roles have significantly contributed to the city’s financial transparency and accountability.

Mayor Jane Yap expressed her pride in the city’s accomplishments, stating, “These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our city officials and employees. Their commitment to excellence in revenue generation and local assessment ensures that Tagbilaran City remains a model for good governance and fiscal responsibility in the region.”

The Pasidungog sa Siete 2024 event served as an important platform for recognizing the achievements of local government units and their key personnel in Central Visayas.

Tagbilaran City’s multiple awards reflect its continuous efforts to improve its financial operations and provide exemplary public service to its residents.
