“The Exorcism” at Screenville Cinemas
Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe stars as a troubled actor driven by his personal demons while shooting a horror film in the supernatural thriller, “The Exorcism”, now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Anthony Miller (Crowe-“Gladiator”) is a renowned movie star who is beset with alcoholism and drug use. He abandoned his wife and young daughter during the time that his wife was dying of cancer.
As he renewed attempts to win back the love and trust of his estranged 16-year-old daughter Lee (Ryan Simpkins-“Revolutionary Road”), the demons start to take over him. While on the set of his latest horror film portraying as a priest, he begins to exhibit a disruptive behaviour. Lee notices his crumbling condition and begins to question if he is slipping back into his past addictions, or something darker or sinister is going on.

“A Quiet Place: Day One”
at Screenville
The third installment in the “A Quiet Place” film series which serves as a prequel that depicts the sudden apocalypse on a much larger scale, “A Quiet Place: Day One” will premiere worldwide on Wednesday, June 26, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Taking place before the first film, “A Quiet Place” in 2018, this chilling prequel story reveals how the world went quiet, where in the universe these
sound-sensitive alien beings came from, and why they invade planet Earth to terrorize and consume its inhabitants.
Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “12 Years a Slave”) stars as a woman named Sam who has a cat, and she’s really worried about her pet because how can you keep a cat quiet?
As these bloodthirsty creatures invade New York City, Sam silently team up with Eric (Joseph Quinn) to formulate a daring plan to escape the city, something that involves a whole lot of careful maneuvering and silent hand signals.
“A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE” will premiere worldwide on Wednesday, June 26, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Island City Mall turns 20
It’s another year of success as Island City Mall marks another milestone, celebrating its 20th Anniversary on Wednesday, June 26.
Since it opened its door to the public in 2004, the mall continues to bring out the best of everything, always finds new concepts, rides with the changes and updates itself with the market demands.
As a way of thanking its valued customers, weeklong activities had been lined up to add glitter to the celebration. The main highlight is the 3-day anniversary sale which is on its last day today. Big discounts of up to 85% are given away on selected items at the Home & Fashion Department and other tenant shops, plus other instant prizes for everyone.
Meanwhile, happening this afternoon at 3:00 o’ clock at the Activity Center is the ICM Race Season 6; while tonight starting at 9:00 o’ clock at the Carpark is the Island City Mall Fellowship Night highlighted by a disco party with CenterStage band.
This coming Tuesday, June 25, the mall will conduct a community outreach with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), dubbed as “A Day with PWD Angels”, at 1:00 o’ clock in the afternoon at the Activity Center.
On the anniversary day, big prizes mostly appliances like TV set, refrigerator, washing machine, airconditioner, microwave oven, dining set, grocery packs, bags of rice, gift certificates, etc. will be given away to lucky customers in the “Big Bente” Roleta computer game promo. A minimum of P2,000 worth of purchase at the Supermarket is needed to join the promo where all are considered winners.
On the same day, at 1:00 o’ clock in the afternoon, the favorite D’ Sephan Mascots will entertain everyone especially the kids visiting at the mall. In the evening at 6:00 o’ clock is the tenants’ appreciation night at the Sandugo Grand Ballroom of Bohol Tropics Resort.
As a post-anniversary finale, ABS-CBN will bring the “Kapamilya” Caravan in Bohol at the Island City Mall this coming Saturday, June 29, at 6:00 o’ clock, at the Carpark, featuring the cast of “Pamilya Sagrado” and other all-star Kapamilya artists/cast from “Zoomers Season 2”, “Kuan on One,” and more.
