Our Lady of Mt. Carmel feast brings excitement, camaraderie to Balilihan

Balilihan, Bohol – The Municipality of Balilihan is set to celebrate the annual feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel with a vibrant schedule of activities spanning ten days in July 2024.

The event promises to be a showcase of local talent, sportsmanship, and community spirit, with various activities designed to engage residents of all ages.

The festivities will kick off on July 7 with the “LGU Night” featuring the Balilihan Hugyawan ng Talento, a talent show that will highlight the diverse skills and creativity of the local government unit employees. This event, starting at 6:00 PM, marks the beginning of a series of exciting events.

From July 8 to July 11, the community will come together for the much-anticipated “Inter Barangay Basketball” tournament. Matches will be held at 4:00 PM daily, fostering friendly competition and camaraderie among the barangays.

On July 9, the youth will take center stage with the “Sabay Kabatan-onan” Hip Hop Dance Competition at 6:00 PM. This event is expected to be a lively showcase of energy and modern dance moves, reflecting the vibrant culture of the younger generation.

July 12 will see “DepEd Night,” a musical evening featuring performances by Soul String and Jam 403, starting at 6:00 PM. This night promises to be a melodic treat, celebrating the talents within the Department of Education.

July 13 brings the “PPC Night” with a “BINGO for a Cause” event at 6:00 PM, providing a fun way for the community to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying a classic game.

Fitness enthusiasts and beauty queens will have their moment on July 14 during the “BISU Night,” featuring a Zumba session followed by a “Bini Night” at 8:00 PM. This event aims to promote health and wellness in a fun and engaging way.

The celebration will continue on July 15 with a “Grand Disco” at 6:00 PM, where residents can dance the night away to popular hits and classic tunes.

Finally, the festivities will culminate on July 16 with the “SK Night” featuring a “Battle of the Bands” at 6:00 PM. This musical showdown will spotlight the best local bands, promising an electrifying end to the ten-day celebration.

The Municipality of Balilihan invites everyone to join in the festivities and celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, a time of joy, unity, and community pride.
