A standalone sequel and the present-day version of the 1996 blockbuster film about trying to predict and tame the immense power of tornadoes, “Twisters” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
An adrenaline-pumping, seat-gripping, big-screen thrill ride, “Twisters” puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most destructive forces – the tornadoes – dubbed as “twisters” in the central plains of the United States.
A former storm chaser, Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar Jones-“Where the Crawdads Sing”) is haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years. But she is lured back by her friend (Anthony Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. She soon crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell-“Top Gun: Maverick”), a charming but reckless social-media celebrity who loves to post his storm chasing adventures on social media.
As storm season intensifies, Kate, Tyler and their teams find themselves in a fight for their lives as multiple storm systems converge over central Oklahoma. A terrifying phenomena never seen before is unleashed upon the earth.

From Marvel Comics comes the third installment of the “Deadpool” film series where the foul-mouthed superhero teams-up with Wolverine to defeat a common enemy in a multiverse adventure, “Deadpool & Wolverine” will premiere on Wednesday, July 24, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Six years after the events of “Deadpool 2” in 2018, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds-“The Hitman’s Bodyguard”) is living a quiet life away from being the mercenary Deadpool. But the Time Variance Authority (TVA), a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space, monitors the timeline and pulls him into a new mission.
With his home universe facing an existential threat, Wilson joins an even more reluctant Wolverine on a mission that will face Cassandra Nova (Emma Corvin), an extremely powerful mutant who is the twin sister of Charles Xavier.
