at Screenville Cinemas

From Marvel Comics comes the third installment of the “Deadpool” film series where the foul-mouthed superhero teams-up with Wolverine to defeat a common enemy in a multiverse adventure, “Deadpool & Wolverine” is still showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

Six years after the events of “Deadpool 2” in 2018, Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds-“The Hitman’s Bodyguard”) is living a quiet life away from being the mercenary Deadpool. But the Time Variance Authority (TVA), a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space, monitors the timeline and pulls him into a new mission.

With his home universe facing an existential threat, Wilson joins an even more reluctant Wolverine on a mission that will face Cassandra Nova (Emma Corvin), an extremely powerful mutant who is the twin sister of Charles Xavier.

“DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE” is still showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

COMING SOON                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             “Alien: Romulus” at Screenville Cinemas

The seventh installment in the popular “Alien” film series and serves as a standalone interquel set between the events of “Alien” in 1979 and “Aliens” in 1986, “Alien: Romulus” will premiere on Wednesday, August 14, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

The new sci-fi thriller takes place in the year 2142 when a group of young space colonists, while scavenging a derelict space station called Renaissance, find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life forms in the universe.

Basing on the film’s script, “Alien: Romulus” has no connection to any previous Ridley Scott’s Alien films like “Prometheus” (2012) and “Alien: Covenant” (2017). So, while it’s technically the seventh movie in the overall franchise, “Alien: Romulus” is actually the fifth installment in the Alien series joining in the original lineup which consists of “Alien,” “Aliens,” “Alien 3,” (1992) and Alien: Resurrection (1997).

“ALIEN ROMULUS” will premiere on Wednesday, August 14, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
