UB athletes haul 54 medals at National PRISAA 2024

The University of Bohol delegationachieved an impressive feat by garnering a total of 54 medals at the National Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) Meet 2024, held from July 20-26, 2024 in Legazpi City.

The team secured 20 gold, 27 silver, and 7 bronze medals, contributing 37% to the overall medal standings of Region VII – Central Visayas. Their gold haul accounted for 13% of the total 87% gold medals won by Region VII. 

Led by Dr. Lemuel O. Belarmino, Dean of Student Personnel Services, and Dr. Lino N. Garsuta, Athletics Coordinator, the university team is the largest among private schools in Bohol. With the all-out support from the University, the athletes were guided by their dedicated coaches and trainers:  MarvenJumawid (athletics), Carlo Tirzo Cresencio (3×3 basketball), Lemuel Belarmino and Jay ando (beach volleyball boys), Sonny Alvarez and Eden Lucero (karatedo), Michael Angelo Opalla (swimming HS boys/college), Mary Ann Madlos (swimming HS girls), AsterioPocot (Boxing), Victor John Anunciado (taekwondo women), and Samuel Alegada (weightlifting). (by Leo Armando Boncales)
