The Bohol Medical Society (BMS), a pivotal organization in the healthcare landscape of Bohol, has embarked on a significant endeavor: the renovation of the BMS building. This project is set to modernize and enhance the society’s headquarters, aligning it with contemporary standards. Established in 1936, the Bohol Medical Society is the official local component society of the Philippine Medical Association (PMA). Its headquarters located in Hangos Street, Brgy Cogon, Tagbilaran City has been a venue for vital activities including meetings, training sessions, and public health initiatives.
However, to better serve its members and the broader community, BMS has identified a pressing need to renovate and make it accessible from the main street again after the city’s road-widening project.
The renovation of the BMS building is driven by several key objectives: (1) enhanced accessibility; (2) modernization; and (3) aesthtic and comfort improvements.
The renovation project is poised to deliver numerous benefits: Enhanced Professional Development: Modern facilities will support better training and development opportunities for medical professionals; Increased Community Engagement: An upgraded building will attract more community health programs and public health education events; Boosted Morale: Improved infrastructure will foster a sense of pride and belonging among BMS members.
Funding and Support
To realize this ambitious project, BMS is sourcing funds through member contributions, fundraising events, and grants from civic and health organizations. The society is also seeking support from the government and private sector to ensure the renovation’s successful completion.
