Tagbilaran City and Panglao have secured top positions in the Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index program, showing Bohol province’s progress in local development.
Panglao ranked first in Economic Dynamism and second in Infrastructure among 3rd-4th Class Municipalities.
The tourist destination, known for its beaches, placed 10th overall in its category.
Tagbilaran City, Bohol’s capital, ranked second in Government Efficiency among Component Cities. It also placed sixth in Infrastructure, seventh in Resiliency, and eighth in Innovation, contributing to its overall fourth place ranking as Most Competitive Component City.
Other Bohol municipalities also performed well. Dauis ranked eighth in both Economic Dynamism and Infrastructure for 3rd-4th Class Municipalities. Clarin placed eighth in Economic Dynamism among 5th-6th class municipalities, while Catigbian ranked eighth in Innovation.
Sevilla and President Carlos P. Garcia, both 5th Class Municipalities, were recognized as Most Improved LGUs, ranking ninth and tenth respectively.
Bohol province improved its overall ranking from 57th to 42nd this year.
The DTI and Provincial Government continue to work together to promote growth and competitiveness across Bohol’s municipalities.
