The University of Bohol (UB) has partnered with Aviation Partnership Philippines also known as A Plus, the country’s largest line maintenance provider, to offer specialized   training for students and graduates of UB’s Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology (AMT) program.

In a ceremony held on August 9, 2024, at A Plus’s head office in Pasay City, Manila, University President Dr. Victoriano B. Tirol III and A Plus General Manager Mr. Rico Ugdoracion formalized the training agreement. Also in attendance during the signing were Dr. Maricel A. Tirol, UB Vice President for Finance;  Mr. Ramir C. Monje, UB AMT Head;  Rena Banzon, Marketing Director;  Hernan Deriada, Operations Director;  and Gil Gatchalian,  Training Director. The partnership includes Airbus Level 1 training, which features   a seven-day lecture series at the University of Bohol and a one-day aircraft visit for students. For AMT graduates, the program offers Level 3 training, consisting of a 25-day lecture series at UB, followed by seven days of practical training and a three-month on-the-job training at A Plus’s main hangar in Pasay City, Manila.
This agreement marks a significant step forward, paving the way for further collaborations between UB and A Plus to enhance   skills and services within Bohol’s aviation industry. (L.A.Boncales)
