Pagtagbo sa Kasilak. Mayor Elvi Peter L. Relampagos (inset, with the lush mangroves of Napo behind him) and devotees of the Birhen sa Kasilak welcome Her image as it is disembarked from a fishing boat after a fluvial procession, and carried by fishermen on the Loon Uplifted Marine Terraces, one of the sites of the UNESCO Global Geopark. Thereafter, the Marian icon is carried up the Inang-angan coral-stone stairway to be enthroned inside the Our Lady of Light Shrine, Bohol’s Queen of Heritage Churches and reportedly the biggest Catholic church building in the Visayas and Mindanao. The activity, which is held on August 29 of every year, highlights the opening of the town’s fiesta celebration that culminates in Bohol’s biggest fiesta banquet on September 8, the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
