at Screenville Cinemas

The second reboot of the favorite “Hellboy” film series, “Hellboy: The Crooked Man” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

Set in 1950s, Hellboy (Jack Kesy-“12 Strong“) and a rookie agent of BPRD (Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense) are stranded in Appalachia where they discover a small community haunted by witches, led by a local devil known as the Crooked Man.

As a powerful heroic demon raised by humans, Hellboy is frequently dispatched by the government to handle missions or assignments involving paranormal entities and phenomenon.

The first Hellboy film in 2004 performed well at the box office in 2004. The reception was positive enough for a sequel, “Hellboy II: The Golden Army“, in 2008. But Lionsgate decided it was time for a new Hellboy film, so there was a Hellboy remake in 2019; and followed by another one, “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” which will double down on the horror elements to bring to life a version of the Hellboy universe that we’ve never seen onscreen before.

“HELLBOY: THE CROOKED MAN” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

ALTURAS, UB HAIR DONATION DRIVE

43 donors share hairs

In the first hair donation drive of “Strands of Love”, conducted by the University of Bohol and Alturas Group of Companies (AGC) last Sunday, at the ICM Activity Center, there were a total of 43 donors who volunteered themselves to have their hair cut.

The hair donation campaign was very successful with the collaborative efforts of AGC and UB. It was officially launched last August 30, during the General Assembly of students, dubbed as “Himamat”, at the UB Quadrangle.

Dr. Lemuel O. Belarmino, CpE, CSASS, the Dean of UB Student Personnel Services, said “Strands of Love” hair donation campaign was conducted to encourage the public to donate hair to create more customized natural wigs for people affected with medical hair loss, mostly cancer victims.

It has been proven that custom-fitted wigs are effective in maintaining the dignity, confidence, and self-esteem of the cancer patients, and thus possess a positive outlook in their lives.

AGC and UB announced to the media and the public that any hair donors can visit UB on October 4 (Friday), at 9 am, for the second donation drive.

HAIR DONATION DRIVE. Some of the hair donors volunteer themselves for the haircut during the first donation drive last Sunday, September 8, at the ICM Activity Center. The next donation drive is on October 4, at the University of Bohol campus.
