BEAVERTON, OREGON: A 32-year-old Filipino-American nurse from Bohol was found dead in Beaverton, Oregon, USA five days after she was reported missing, authorities said Friday.

Melissa Jubane, a cardiac nurse at St. Vincent Medical Center, was found dead on Sept. 9, according to the Beaverton Police Department.

Her body was discovered after a search effort was launched following her disappearance on Sept. 4.

Police have arrested 27-year-old Bryce Jonathan Schubert, Jubane’s neighbor, and charged him with murder in connection with her death.

Authorities have not released details on the circumstances surrounding Jubane’s death, which remains under investigation.

Jubane had recently returned to her apartment after marrying her fiancé, Bryan, in Hawaii.

She was last seen at work on Sept. 3, but failed to report for her morning shift the next day, prompting a welfare check by police.

During the check, police found Jubane’s car but not her bag, wallet, and keys.

Her family reported that her phone was turned off, leading to her name being entered into the National Law Enforcement Database as a missing person.

The investigation led authorities to obtain a lead connecting Schubert to Jubane’s disappearance.

Further details on the case are expected to be released as the investigation continues.

Jubane, who traced her roots to Antequera, Bohol, was a cardiac nurse at St. Vincent Medical Center.
