Boholana wins national award in 2024 search for outstanding gov’t workers

A government employee from Tagbilaran City Hall has been named a national winner in the 2024 Search for Outstanding Government Workers under the CSC Pagasa Award category.

Adelfa T. Salutan, an administrative officer V, received the award for her outstanding leadership and establishment of the Tagbilaran City Garments Manufacturing Center, a key hub for economic empowerment and skills development that has implemented sustainable livelihood programs for empowered women and other marginalized groups.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally presented the award to Salutan during the awarding ceremony for the 2024 Outstanding Government Workers at Malacañan Palace in Manila on Wednesday.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) led the recognition and awarding of government employees for their exceptional contributions, achievements, and exemplary performance in public service.

Under the CSC’s Honor Awards Program, the annual search aims to recognize civil servants who have demonstrated exceptional performance, outstanding acts or services that have contributed to the achievement of excellence, economy, and improvement in government operations, and consistently exhibited exemplary values.

The award program has three categories, including the Presidential Lingkod Bayan, Outstanding Public Officials and Employees Award or Dangal ng Bayan, and the CSC Pagasa Award.

The CSC Pagasa Award recognizes exceptional contributions that have directly benefited more than one government department.

The ceremony marked the culmination of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, celebrated every September.

Salutan received a Presidential plaque with a citation signed by the President, a gold-gilded medallion, and a P200,000 incentive.

This is not the first time a Boholano has received a prestigious award from the Philippine Civil Service.

Former Bohol governor and now congressman Edgar Chatto has received all three top awards — the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award, Dangal ng Bayan Award, and Pagasa Award — during his term as vice governor and governor.
