The LGU Lila FB Post said: “On September 6, 2024, LGU-Lila joined the month-long celebration of the 124th Civil Service Anniversary, kicking off the event with a Holy Mass and launch of Sports Fest 2024. The activity commenced with a Holy Mass in the morning, officiated by Rev. Fr. Blair Lope Sabaricos, and was continued in the afternoon with an opening program of LGU Lila Sports Fest 2024. Hon. Eugene Cahiles delivered a welcome address, emphasizing the significance of sportsmanship, while Atty. Arturo A. Piollo II (in photo), provided a brief message and officially declared the event open. Nelgen Cahatol, a member of Team Lila Open Division for the Governor’s Cup 2024, had the honor of lighting the torch, while Ejboy Tagadiad led the Oath of Sportsmanship. The four teams—Purple Pegasus, Red Rooster, Blue Marlins, and Pink Panthers—were introduced with cheers, followed by a mass dance and the start of the games.
