NPC members call for expulsion of Willy Ramasola from party

A group of concerned members from the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) in Bohol province has formally requested the removal of Emmanuel “Willy” Ramasola from the political party, citing conduct unbecoming of a member and potential damage to the party’s reputation.

In a letter dated Sept. 20, 2024, addressed to NPC Party President Sen. Tito Sotto and Secretary General Mark Leandro Mendoza, the group expressed strong opposition to Ramasola’s membership, alleging a pattern of behavior inconsistent with the party’s values and public image.

The letter states that Ramasola faces “a string of cases filed against him for cyber libel, slander, etc. for his acts of bullying on and outside social media.”

While the exact number and nature of these cases were not specified, the group claims they demonstrate a troubling pattern of behavior.

Ramasola, who has portrayed himself as a self-proclaimed crusader, is accused by the concerned members of engaging in activities that contradict the party’s image.

“His public actions are not consistent with our party tenets and visions of which we as party members sincerely adhere to,” the letter reads.

The group further alleges that Ramasola has been allegedly “spreading fake news and besmirching other people’s reputation in the guise of espousing an advocacy for the public good.”

They argue that these actions are “simply a ruse to promote his self-interest.”

NPC members express concern that Ramasola’s continued association with the party could “tarnish and destroy the good image we have painstakingly built for our party over the years.”

They are calling for immediate action to protect the party’s reputation.

As of press time, neither Sen. Sotto nor Secretary General Mendoza have publicly responded to the letter.

Attempts to reach Ramasola for comment were unsuccessful.

NPC, founded in 1992, has been a significant player in Philippine politics for over three decades.

The call for removal of Ramasola comes at a time when political parties across the nation are gearing up for 2025 electoral battles.

In a shocking turn of events, Willy Ramasola, a budding politician who wants to run as provincial board member, has announced his withdrawal from the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) party, citing his inability to reconcile with Bohol NPC Provincial Chairman, Atty. Art Yap, former governor of Bohol.

Ramasola, who had earlier expressed his intention to run for seat in the Bohol First District in 2025, took to social media to reveal his decision.

In an FB post, he showed a torn copy of NPC oath of membership signed by Sotto and Mendoza.

Four days earlier, he posted a photo of him with Sen. Sotto after he took his membership oath and pledged allegiance to the party, bragging his new affiliation with NPC en route to filing of his certificate of candidacy.

But Ramasola was shocked a day later after he learned that Atty. Yap has been appointed NPC Bohol party chairman.

Ramasola is facing a string of libel cases filed by Yap.
