Baclayon Mayor Alvin Uy (inset, upper left corner) said on Sept. 19, 2024: “Local Zoning Board of Adjustment and Appeal (LZBAA) had a meeting in connection of the application of the Ocean Jet Fast Ferries Corporation for an EXCEPTION of the usage of its land in Sta. Cruz, Baclayon, which is currently under Agricultural Use into Commercial Use. Ocean Jet is planning to build a private commercial port at Sta. Cruz, Baclayon, for its fastcrafts with routes Bohol-Camiguin and Bohol-Cagayan de Oro City. In attendance were Vice Mayor Romy Aya-ay Balangkig, Councilors Moloy Caballo, Vicky Aquino, Derwin Cuajao, Engr. Gessa Opada – Daquio, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC), Engr. Cirilo Payot, Municipal Engineer, Ar. Sweet Ambojot, Municipal Assessor, Punong Barangay Tito Cuajao and Sta. Cruz barangay council, Punong Barangay Adolfo Alo Sr., Punong Barangay Ulyses Tomarong, Punong Barangay Arlyn Donaire Miranda Andoy, Punong Barangay Crispo Valeroso, Chief Security Officer (CSO) Representatives, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary Eric Cañete, Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Manager and Staff,  representatives of Astoria Hotel and some Local Government Unit staff. After the meeting, the application is set for consideration, pending submission of some necessary documents. But the LZBAA will still accept written comments regarding this proposed project.
