Bohol officials, led by Governor Aris Aumentado and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap

SOLD OUT: Bohol officials, led by Governor Aris Aumentado and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap, recently visited Iloilo to observe the operations of More Power, where they were welcomed by Iloilo Governor Arthur “Toto” Defensor, Jr. and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas. This visit comes after More Power, a subsidiary of billionaire Enrique Razon’s conglomerate, successfully acquired a 70% stake in the Bohol Light Company, Inc. (BLCI) from the Salcon consortium for P350 million, while the Provincial Government of Bohol retains its 30% ownership. More Power has committed P1 billion for the comprehensive rehabilitation and upgrading of BLCI’s infrastructure, including power lines, substations, transformeff and customer service systems. The company, which has also acquired the Cen Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) serving Bacolod City and parts of Negros Occidental, will soon partner with the province of Bohol in a joint venture agreement to operate the power distribution utility in Tagbilaran City.
