Lila Mayor Arturo Piollo II (inset, upper left corner) has announced the following: “Last Saturday, September 28, 2024, we planted bamboo in Brgy. Cogon, Brgy. Jambawan, and Brgy. Calvario! Hosted by the LGU Lila in partnership with IWON (Island Wonders Ocean & Nature Park), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and The Regenesis Project, this event marked the second World Bamboo Day 2024 celebration. It was an incredible day filled with teamwork and enthusiasm, as we dug into the earth, making a positive impact for the future. Planting bamboo helps fight climate change, promotes biodiversity, and provides habitats for wildlife. We’re excited to see the bamboo we planted grow and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. Every small effort counts, and we’re proud to be part of this journey! Contributed photo
