This innovation was unveiled during the culmination of the Elderly Filipino Week on October 7, 2024, at the Saulog Gym, Tagbilaran City, in front of a large gathering of senior citizens and local officials.

The new Senior Citizen ID is designed to provide crucial information in emergency situations, with the QR code containing details such as the senior citizen’s health conditions, maintenance medications, and emergency contact information. Mayor Jane Yap, in her message during the event, emphasized the city’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of its senior citizens. “Our senior citizens are the foundation of our community. Their wisdom and contributions have shaped Tagbilaran into what it is today. This new ID system is a testament to our commitment to ensuring that they live with dignity and safety,” she said.

The launch was part of the larger celebration organized by the Office of the Senior Citizens Association, led by Ms. Ester Budlong and Ms. Evelina Leyble, along with the Federation of Senior Citizens Associations of the Philippines (FSCAP) – Tagbilaran City Chapter, under the leadership of President Engr.
