KADIWA ng Pangulo launched in Tagbilaran City

The City Government of Tagbilaran, in collaboration with various national government agencies, launched the KADIWA ng Pangulo program on October 23, 2024, at the Tagbilaran City Hall Premises.

This initiative, supported by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), aims to provide both consumers and local producers with a mutually beneficial marketplace.

KADIWA, which stands for “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita”, is a convergence program spearheaded by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

It seeks to ensure that consumers have access to affordable, fresh, and quality products, while also offering local farmers, fisherfolk, and micro-enterprises a venue to sell their produce and products at fair and competitive prices.

During the event, exhibitors sold various goods, including rice, fresh vegetables, and local products from Tagbilaran’s farmers and entrepreneurs.

The program provides the residents with affordable food options and supports local producers’ livelihoods by giving them a direct platform to reach consumers.

City Mayor Jane Yap expressed her gratitude for the strong collaboration between the city and national government agencies, emphasizing the importance of programs like KADIWA in promoting food security and economic growth.

“This initiative directly benefits our local producers while ensuring that our constituents have access to fresh and affordable food. KADIWA serves as a model for creating sustainable communities, where both consumers and producers thrive,” Mayor Yap remarked.

By launching the KADIWA sa Pangulo program, Tagbilaran City looks forward to more collaborative efforts that empower local businesses and provide affordable and quality goods to its residents.
