Youth Awards Launched

An awards program, setting off a strong movement for youth empowerment, was launched for the first district of Bohol.

The 2024 Pasidungog sa Pagdumala Awards for youth leaders and youth organizations was formally launched on October 29, 2024.

Cong. Edgar Chatto in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Bohol Provincial Federation and the Philippine Center of Young Leaders in Governance (PCYLG) spearheaded the launching activity.

Chatto, himself an award winning youth leader, said the campaign was initiated to inspire the younger generation starting with the first district.

He stated that although recognition is not the aim of leadership, it plays a vital role in pushing for excellence.

“Inspiration moves people into action,” he added, citing the need to instill love of country, volunteerism, effecting change and making a positive impact in the community through youth empowerment.

Themed “Communities Help Achieve Transparent and Transformational Organizations,” the awards program honors young leaders and organizations within the first district of Bohol in order to inspire the young generation to become actively involved in the community.

This is in recognition of the transformative power of exemplary leadership, innovative practices and significant community impact.

The awards program is open to youth leaders and organizations across various sectors including school based, church based, community based, sectoral based and government affiliated youth organizations.

It comprises 10 categories such as Outstanding Young Leader or Pasidungog sa Pagdumala for Business and Entrepreneurship, Government Service, Student Leaders, Young Professionals, Community Service, Church Leaders, Art, Culture and Heritage, Sports, Environmental Advocate and Digital Communications.
