A sense of shock and grief has gripped the town of Loboc, as news spread of the tragic deaths of two Filipino-Americans with roots in the town, who were among the four victims of a mass shooting in Lancaster, California.

Cristine Aca-ac and Janvi Maquindang, siblings who were part of the LGBTQ community, were identified as the victims with Bohol roots.

According to reports, they were born to parents who hail from Loboc and had planned to retire in the town.

The siblings, along with their partners, were found dead in their home in Lancaster, California, after a shooting incident on Saturday morning (US time).

Three of their dogs were also killed in the incident.

The motive behind the shooting and the cause of the fire that engulfed the victims’ home remain unknown.

According to relatives, the victims’ parents had recently returned to the US to attend to the funeral arrangements for their children.

The family had planned to settle in Loboc, where they had roots, after retiring from the US.
