From Walt Disney comes the epic sequel to the hit animated musical adventure film “Moana” in 2016, “Moana 2,” is now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
Moana Waialiki of Motunui (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) is returning to the big screen for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced. Three years after the first film, Moana heads out on a dangerous mission to the far seas and into the dangerous waters of Oceania after receiving daring instruction from her ancestors.
Moana reunites with her demigod friend Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson) who accompanies her on a journey to break god Nalo’s curse on the hidden island of Motufetu. Together, they confront old and new foes, including the Kakamora and underworld goddess Matangi.
According to Walt Disney, “Moana” was a big success generating more than $680 million at the box office; and they expect the same for the sequel.

STILL SHOWING “Hello, Love, Again”

A heartwarming romantic drama which is a sequel to the 2019 box office hit, “Hello Love, Goodbye”, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards; “Hello, Love, Again” is still showing on its 3rd week drawing more moviegoers at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.
“Hello, Love, Again” is now the first Filipino film to gross P1 billion worldwide, setting a new record as the highest grossing Filipino movie of all time, surpassing Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes Manila Filmfest 2023 movie, “Rewind.”
In the previous film, Joy (Bernardo) is a nurse working in Canada who previously worked as a domestic helper in Hong Kong; while Ethan (Richards) is a bartender also in Hong Kong. They meet and fall in love with each other in Hong Kong.
Joy and Ethan’s love story unfold once again in this new installment. Five years after Joy leaves Hong Kong to pursue her dreams in Canada, they fight for their love to conquer the time, distance and a global shutdown that kept them apart. Joy and Ethan meet again in Canada but realize that they have also changed a lot, individually.

DFA Consular Office

Boholano applicants for passport or those who seek for its renewal will no longer have to go to other places like Manila, Cebu, and Dumaguete, as the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Alturas Group of Companies (AGC) open its 41st Consular Office here in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, located at the 5th Floor of Alturas Mall.
DFA Undersecretary Jesus Domingo led the ceremonial ribbon cutting last Friday morning, November 29, together with DFA Assistant Secretary for Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) Adelio Angelito S. Cruz, AGC General Manager Marlito C. Uy and wife Neneng Uy, Rep. Edgar M. Chatto, Gov. Erico Aumentado, and Tagb. City Mayor Jane Cajes-Yap.
With a very hectic schedule, DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo just delivered a pre-recorded video message congratulating both the DFA and AGC for another milestone in public service.
A ceremonial MOA Signing between the DFA and AGC was made just before the official blessing and ribbon-cutting of the new consular office here in Bohol, in which according to Mr. Uy is a fitting gift to the Boholanos this Yuletide season. “It took almost 4 years of concerted efforts to turn this dream into a reality,” Mr. Uy said during his Welcome Remarks which drew applause from the crowd, including the local media.
Mr. Uy expressed his profound gratitude to the DFA, and to the Bohol leadership from Rep. Chatto, Gov. Aumentado, and to Mayor Yap who lauded Mr. Uy for all the great things Alturas Group of Companies had done for Bohol for many generations.
