Balilihan Mayor Pureza Veloso-Chatto (3rd from left, seated) also said this on November 15, 2024: “As part of their mandate to undertake research and extension services, and progressive leadership, Bohol Island State University (BISU) collaborates with LGU Balilihan for the advancement of knowledge, educational practices and heritage conservation in the region. BISU enters into a Memorandum of Agreement with LGU Balilihan re: the conduct of a comprehensive research on the Belfry of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hill, Balilihan.
