Jagna Mayor Joseph Rañola (inset, upper right corner), In a bid to strengthen the municipality’s commitment to sustainable environmental practices, is upported by the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) that Jagna convened for a thorough revision of the Integrated Solid Waste Management Code of 2017. The event took place at Lenny’s Function Hall in Bunga Mar, Jagna, on December 11, 2024. The activity featured Ma. Socorro Trinidad, RND (standing, left), as the resource speaker. A highly respected expert in the field of waste management, Trinidad provided invaluable insights on innovative strategies to improve the municipality’s waste management system. Her discussion focused on key topics such as waste segregation, recycling programs, modern approaches to community-level waste reduction, and the essential steps in formulating the revised ordinance. The revision of the 2017 Code is a significant step in addressing the growing challenges of waste disposal and environmental sustainability. “This revision will not only ensure compliance with national environmental standards but also create a cleaner and healthier Jagna for future generations,” said Vice Mayor Teofisto Pagar Jr. in his welcome message during the session.
