This award is a testament to Maribojoc’s unwavering commitment to disaster preparedness, response, and risk reduction—ensuring a safe and resilient future for our community. Gawad Kalasag (KALamidad at Sakuna LAbanan, SAriling Galing ang Kaligtasan) is a national award program by the Philippine government, recognizing outstanding performance in disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) and humanitarian assistance. It aims to promote a culture of safety and resilience among local government units, organizations, and communities. The Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence is granted to LGUs that have met the comprehensive requirements for DRRM, demonstrating exemplary governance and the ability to protect and empower their constituents.
