“EYE LOVE YOU” EYE CARE PROGRAM

Alturas donates

1,206 eyeglasses

Just in time for this Yuletide season of love, the Alturas Group of Companies (AGC), through its Alay Marcela Foundation, continues its eye care program, dubbed as “Eye Love You”, by distributing a total of 1,206 free prescription eyeglasses to its first batch of eye patients who underwent check-up last August, when Alturas reached out to the barangay folks who are suffering from poor eyesight.

Conducted in partnership with Ideal Vision Center, the most trusted optical brand in the Philippines, “Eye Love You” highlights free eye check-up and provides reading eyeglasses to the prospect patients.

As part of the observance of Sight-Saving Month of August, AGC conducted a monthlong eye check-up in the different barangays. This month of December, thousands of beneficiaries are about to receive their branded prescription eyeglasses.

The scheduled distribution of free eyeglasses for the 1st batch of beneficiaries are on December 16 – Lourdes, Cortes; December 17 – La Hacienda & Untaga, Alicia; December 18 – Gabi & Lomangog, Ubay; and December 20 – Catagbacan, Loon and San Isidro, Calape.

The second batch of beneficiaries from other barangays will also receive the same reading eyeglasses next month of January.

“Eye Love You” stems from “Oplan Sagip Mata”, a comprehensive eye care program of DOH launched by the late Senator and former Health Secretary Juan Flavier in 1993, which until now provides free operations and services to address the increasing rate of blindness in the country. It has already helped over 500,000 beneficiaries nationwide.
