DECEMBER MORN
Shorter days and longer nights mark the end of a bustling year. The cold winter winds blowing from the North give a chilly feel for the month of December.
It brings a cool atmosphere to the holiday season where a festive spirit fills the air. This gives a joyous feeling amid all the merrymaking and thanksgiving of the holidays.
The year that was, brings us to moments of reflection. We look forward to the year incoming but must learn lessons from the year past.
How was our year spent? What things do we need to improve on and do better?
Every year we try to come up with resolutions for a better New Year. But 365 days past, how far have we gone?
Though life is complex and mysterious, we must always learn to live with it and adapt. Adapting is key to our survival.
Yet acceptance of our humanity and its frailties is equally important to gain a better perspective of ourselves. To move forward and succeed in life we must know ourselves better.
While no easy task, it takes a lot of courage and determination to level with oneself. We must know what we want, what to do to achieve it and how to do it without causing harm to others.
To make the most of our lives,it must be imbued with meaning and purpose. We must set our sails to where we are going. Our journeys are made more enjoyable and easier if we have established clear goals before starting off.
As we awake to cold December mornings, let us enjoy the chilly temperatures of the season and take time to pause and reflect. Look beyond ourselves, but let us not forget who we are and what we have set out to dol.
