Town News-TUBIGON

On December 17, 2024, there was a turnover of Bagongbanwa Island Computers and Solar Seawater Desalination System from Tzuchi Foundation – Bohol, Hamak Solar/Jason’s Solar Water, and Power4U Inc. The Local Government Unit of Tubigon headed by Hon. William R. Jao would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Tzuchi Foundation, Hamak Solar/Jason’s Solar Water, and Power4U Inc. for providing a solar seawater desalination system to the island of Bagongbanwa, which will also benefit the people of Barangay Mocaboc. The beneficiaries are about 2,200 people residing on the islands of Bagongbanwa and Mocaboc. In cases of little to no solar source, there is an AC power source to backup the system. The system supports a hybrid mode of solar and AC. Before the desalination system project, residents from Barangay Bangongbanwa and Barangay Mocaboc purchased drinking water from the mainland, and the price is twice its original price. Now that the desalination system is available, they will be able to save their time, money, and energy. Tzuchi Foundation – Bohol also donated four sets of computers: two sets for Bagongbanwa Elementary School and two sets for Bagongbanwa High School. The students and teachers are very grateful to the foundation connections of which were made possible through Hon. William R. Jao (2nd from right), Municipal Mayor; Hon. Gail Jao, Municipal Councilor; Tzuchi Bohol Deputy Coordinator, Joven Uy; Power4U Solar Inc. Founder, Chris Chen; Jason’s Solar Water representatives, Sales Manager Wayne Liang and Sales Engineer Dylan Wu; LGU Tubigon Engineering Department; and Bagongbanwa Barangay Officials.
