BOHECO I refunds over P22M in bill deposits— with interest

Bohol I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BOHECO I) has refunded over P22 million pesos in bill deposits to its member-consumer-owners (MCOs), complete with interest, as of December 26, 2024.

In a statement, BOHECO I said the refund, totaling P22,647,314.08 pesos, demonstrates the cooperative’s commitment to delivering genuine, consumer-focused service and upholding the rights of residential electricity consumers as mandated by the Magna Carta for Residential Electricity Consumers.

BOHECO I’s proactive compliance with the ERC-mandated policy has fostered consumer trust and reinforced accountability, with the cooperative prioritizing the education of its MCOs through seminars and providing essential information to empower them to make informed decisions, the coop noted.

The refund is a proof to BOHECO I’s dedication to fairness, transparency, and quality service, with the cooperative’s efforts reflecting its purpose to make a positive impact on the lives of its MCOs, the coop added.
