Tagbilaran City launches 2025 Business One Stop Shop

As the new year begins, Tagbilaran City has once again demonstrated its commitment to improving ease of doing business through the launch of the 2025 Business One Stop Shop (BOSS).

The initiative, spearheaded by the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) under Atty. Colleen Rose Guantero and the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) led by Mr. Hubert Inas, provides extended operating hours from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday, until January 20, 2025.

Alongside this, the city continues to offer the e-BOSS platform, enabling business owners to conveniently process permits on line.

Mayor Jane Yap emphasized the city’s ongoing drive for innovation and accessibility in public services. “The e-BOSS reflects our vision of a modernized and efficient government, making it easier for our business community to thrive. Through this system, we are not only streamlining processes but also fostering a business-friendly environment that supports growth and development,” she said.

The e-BOSS platform simplifies the renewal and application process into three easy steps. Business owners can log in to the city’s official website at www.tagbilaran.gov.ph, process payments for business tax, fire fees, and barangay clearance fees through secure online channels, and receive their digital Mayor’s Permit.

For those opting for the online registration, Atty. Guantero reiterated the importance of attaching complete and accurate documents. “While the system ensures convenience, approval is contingent upon the submission of all required paperwork,” she explained.

Renewal applicants are required to secure a Real Property Tax (RPT) Clearance from the CTO at Window 29.

For new applications, essential documents include registration papers from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), or Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), as well as a Certificate of Occupancy for new structures or a Certificate of Old Existing Building for older premises.

Lessor’s Permits for 2025 are also mandatory for rented spaces.

To ensure a seamless experience, Mayor Yap encouraged business owners to comply with all requirements ahead of time. “Proactive compliance will lead to a smoother process, whether you are renewing your permit or starting a new business. Let’s work together to maintain Tagbilaran City’s reputation as a hub for dynamic and sustainable enterprises,” she added.

This year’s BOSS initiative underscores the city government’s steadfast dedication to innovation, accessibility, and economic growth, setting the stage for a productive and prosperous 2025 for Tagbilaran’s business community.

The annual business permit application and renewal process began on January 2, 2025 with entrepreneurs lining up at the Tagbilaran City Hall Atrium. This enthusiastic response demonstrates local businesses’ dedication to complying with city regulations. Contributed photo
