On January 24, 2025, the local government of Jagna, under the leadership of Mayor Joseph A. Rañola (left), warmly welcomed officials from the Provincial Philippine National Police (PNP). The delegation was led by PLTCOL Judymar Bonilla, Deputy Provincial Director for Administration of the 2nd Rank in Bohol, accompanied by PLT Dave Surio and PLT Zeus Livin Cinco Bugtai. The visitors were greeted with the traditional patunob, sinoog estokada, and sab-ong ceremonies, showcasing the vibrant culture and warm hospitality of the community. The program began by honoring the Jagna PNP for their exceptional service in maintaining peace and order in the municipality. A significant highlight was the turnover of ₱100,000.00 initial confidential funds to strengthen local law enforcement operations. PLT Zeus Livin Cinco Bugtai, Officer-in-Charge of the Jagna Municipal Police Station (MPS), gratefully accepted the fund and expressed his sincere appreciation, particularly to the local government unit (LGU) and Mayor Joseph A. Rañola. He stated, “I am here in Jagna to do my job. As a police officer my task is to make everyone safe and secure.” PLT Bugtai further highlighted that illegal drugs remain the primary cause of community problems, often leading to serious crimes such as rape, theft, and other offenses. “Ug atong sugpuon ang problema sa druga, ma lessen nato ang crime rate sa atong lungsod,” he said. He also emphasized that his program as OIC is focused on fighting illegal drugs, recognizing Mayor Rañola’s unwavering support for the PNP in this mission. On the other hand, PLTCOL Judymar Bonilla emphasized that the PNP is committed to serving and protecting the community without expecting anything in return from the local government. He remarked, “We are fortunate and privileged that the Municipality of Jagna, under the capable and supportive leadership of Mayor Joseph A. Rañola, continues to extend unwavering support to the PNP. This encouragement inspires us to remain active and dedicated in our mission to maintain peace and order.” Finally, in his meaningful message, Mayor Joseph A. Rañola reiterated his strong determination to eliminate illegal activities, including illegal drugs, gambling, and logging in the municipality. He emphasized that addressing these issues is crucial to maintaining peace and order and building a strong foundation for the progress and well-being of Jagna. Contributed photo
