Cong. Edgar Chatto delivers the welcome remarks during the first Kalalawdan Fellowship Policy Forum held at the Belmonte Hall of the House of Representatives on February 5, 2025. The forum featured presentations of 20 Lawod fellows on climate change research, marine scientific research, institutionalization of National Academic Research Fleet and Marine Protected Areas in the West Philippine Sea during the forum. Under the Kalalawdan Fellowship Program, organized by Project Nexus, Filipino scientists and policy practitioners who guided fellows to be staunch advocates for the Philippine seas. Project Nexus is supported by the Australian Government and implemented by the Asia Foundation in collaboration with the Marine Science Institute (MSI) and the Marine Environment and Resources Foundation.
