Mayor Yap leads turnover of new covered courts

Tagbilaran City marked another milestone in its commitment to improving educational infrastructure as newly constructed covered courts were officially turned over to Taloto Elementary School and Booy Main Elementary School on February 5, 2025.

The turnover ceremonies were led by Honorable Mayor Jane Yap, joined by barangay officials, school representatives, and city education leaders.

Barangay Captain Zamora of Taloto and Barangay Captain Telmo of Booy, along with their respective officials, were present to witness the events, underscoring the strong partnership between the city government and local barangays.

City DepEd Superintendent Dr.WilfredaBongalos, together with the school principals and personnel from both schools, expressed their gratitude for the invaluable addition to their facilities.

The newly constructed covered courts are designed to provide students and educators with a safe and conducive venue for various school and barangay activities, regardless of weather conditions.

Mayor Jane Yap highlighted the significance of these projects, stating, “These covered courts are not just structures; they represent our commitment to the holistic development of our students. We aim to provide spaces where learning, sports, and community engagement can thrive.”

The school officials extended their heartfelt appreciation to the city government for prioritizing the welfare of the students and the broader school communities.

They lauded the city’s unwavering support for education, noting that the covered courts will serve as vital spaces for physical education, assemblies, and other developmental activities.

The City Government of Tagbilaran remains steadfast in its mission to uplift the standards of public education by providing essential infrastructure and fostering a collaborative environment for learning and community development.

With these newly inaugurated facilities, both Taloto and Booy are set to benefit from enhanced opportunities for educational and social growth.
