Under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Engr. Romulo A. Manuta (inset, upper right corner), the Municipality of Maribojoc has proudly secured its place among the 64 cities and municipalities in Central Visayas to be included in the 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit. With an impressive rating of 85.27%, Maribojoc will be conferred with the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG), an award that recognizes local government units for their unwavering commitment to promoting the rights and welfare of children. The SCFLG is a nationwide initiative aimed at ensuring that local governments uphold the principles of child protection, participation, and provision of basic needs, in line with the Philippine government’s efforts to foster a more child-friendly society. For the 2024 audit, the award acknowledges the effective implementation of programs and policies that prioritize the well-being of children in Maribojoc, addressing areas such as education, health, and protection from abuse. Mayor Romulo Manuta’s administration has focused on creating an environment that supports the development and safety of the town’s younger population. Through key initiatives in healthcare, education, and social welfare, Maribojoc has showed significant improvements in child-friendly governance. In being awarded the SCFLG, Maribojoc joins a distinguished list of municipalities and cities in Central Visayas that have demonstrated exemplary leadership in child-centered governance.
