In its continued commitment to quality education, the University of Bohol (UB) has subjected its core programs—Liberal Arts, Teachers College, and Business Administration—to Level III re-accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (PAASCU) on February 17-18, 2025.
The two-day hybrid evaluation assessed key areas such as Teaching and Learning, Student Services, Resource Management, Results, Quality Assurance, External Relations, and Research.
Leading the on-site PAASCU Accreditation Team was Dr. Juliet Dalagan, Chairperson and President for Higher Education at Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan. She was joined by the following members: Dr.KriscentiExur Barcelona – Dean, Teacher Education Program, MAED, MAHE, Lourdes College, Inc., Cagayan de Oro City; Mr. Edward Mendoza – Director, Guidance and CounselingCenter, Angeles University Foundation, Angeles City; Ms.LigoriaPingul – Former Chief Librarian, University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu City; and Ms.BrenetteAbrenica – Director, Human Resource Management Office, and Member, PAASCU Commission on Tertiary Education, University of San Carlos, Cebu City.
Meanwhile, the following accreditors conducted their evaluation remotely: Dr. Anna May Zerrudo – Quality Assurance Director, Central Philippine University, Iloilo; Dr. Edgar Detoya – Member, PAASCU Commission on Tertiary Education and Dean, School of Business and Management, University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu City; Ms. Renee VieveVecina-Kanindot – Director, Office of Mission Integration and Leadership Development (OMILD), Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Zamboanga City; Dr.NoedaMadamesila – Research and Planning Office Director, Colegio San Agustin, Bacolod City; and Jane Martinez, PAASCU Representative and Secretariat.
UB President Victoriano B. Tirol III, in his speech, reiterated that the re-accreditation process reaffirms the University of Bohol’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement in higher education.
Notably, the University of Bohol holds Level III Accreditation for the following programs: College of Liberal Arts (AB Philosophy, AB Political Science, and AB English), Teachers College (Elementary Education and Secondary Education), and College of Business and Accountancy (Business Administration Program).
The university has achieved Level II Accreditation for: Basic Education Program (VDTALC), College of Criminal Justice – Criminology Program, and College of Hospitality Management, Tourism, and Nutrition – Tourism Management Program and Hospitality Management Program, and College of Nursing – Nursing Program, and University Grade School and University Junior High School Programs.
