On February 20, 2025, the local government of Jagna, under the leadership of our esteemed Mayor Joseph A. Rañola (inset, upper left corner), warmly welcomed Mr. Ramil Tan, the Executive Director and CEO of CEVI, a micro-financing non-governmental organization (NGO). Their visit aimed to witness the successful initiatives of the Material Recycling Facility (MRF) located at the Jagna Agri Eco Park in Tubod Mar, Jagna. On the same day, the Philippine League of Secretaries to Sanggunian (PLEASES) Bohol chose Jagna as the venue for their conference and general assembly. This is a great honor for Jagna, as an important assembly was held in the town. Upon the arrival of the distinguished guests, they were warmly received with a band and the traditional “patunob” at St. Michael the Archangel Parish. This was followed by a special performance of “Sinoog Estokada” by the Jagna Performing Arts Guild at the Calamay Stage in Plaza De Jagna. After the historic performance, the guests were brought to the new municipal hall, where they were personally welcomed by Vice Mayor Teofisto Pagar Jr. on behalf of Mayor Joseph Rañola. A traditional ritual called “Sabwag” was also conducted, symbolizing a warm and heartfelt reception for the visitors. Furthermore, department heads presented various programs and services of the local government unit (LGU), including landmark projects and ongoing initiatives in the town. This initiative aligns with Mayor Joseph Rañola’s advocacy for transparency. The guests expressed their deep gratitude for the unique experience they had in Jagna, especially the warm reception from the local government. They extended their heartfelt appreciation to Mayor Joseph Rañola and Vice Mayor Jojo Pagar for their unwavering dedication to the progress and well-being of the people of Jagna. Contributed photo
