Tagbilaran expands mobile health services for senior citizens
The City Government of Tagbilaran, led by Mayor Jane Yap, continues to prioritize healthcare accessibility for senior citizens by expanding its mobile health services.
In partnership with the Tagbilaran City Primary Care Facility, the initiative provides medical consultations, basic health assessments, and preventive care directly to elderly residents during their monthly barangay meetings.
Following successful rollouts in January, the mobile health services resumed in March, covering more barangays to ensure that more senior citizens receive essential healthcare.
On March 5, 2025, the program was brought to the Tiptip and Booy Senior Citizens’ Monthly Meetings, where seniors in Booy also received medical consultations.
The initiative continued on March 7, 2025, during the Poblacion Senior Citizens Monthly Meeting, further strengthening the city’s commitment to elderly care.
Mayor Jane Yap personally attended the activities, emphasizing her administration’s dedication to improving the health and well-being of senior citizens.
“We recognize the challenges our elderly face in accessing healthcare. By bringing these services directly to them, we are ensuring they receive the medical attention they need without the burden of traveling far,” she stated.
Senior citizens expressed gratitude for the program, sharing how it has made healthcare more accessible and convenient for them.
The initiative is spearheaded by City Health Officer Dr. Jeia Pondoc, whose team continues to work tirelessly to provide quality healthcare to Tagbilaran’s aging population.
Mayor Yap commended the efforts of the Tagbilaran City Primary Care Facility and assured the public that the City Government remains committed to expanding healthcare programs that prioritize inclusivity and accessibility.
The mobile health services initiative is part of the administration’s broader efforts to improve public health, ensuring that all sectors of the community—especially the elderly—receive the support they deserve.
