RICHLI CORP. WANTS WATER RIGHTS IN LOAY AND LOBOC CANCELLED: Loay Mayor Atty. Hilario “Lahar” Ayuban (left) has reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the water rights of the Loay-Loboc Joint Waterworks System, amid maneuvers of Richli Water Corp. to revoke its access to the Loctob spring in Loboc town, Bohol. Ayuban expressed fears after learning that Richli Corp. filed a petition with the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) in 2021 to cancel the water rights of Loay Waterworks System, Loboc Waterworks System, and the joint system supplying both towns. Richli had done the same water rights attack against Balilihan LGU. The Loay-Loboc water system has provided water to several barangays in Loboc and nearly all barangays in Loay for over two decades. In response, Ayuban and Loboc Mayor Raymond Jala (right) visited the NWRB office in Quezon City to obtain records of the petition and prepare a response. Ayuban assured residents that LGU officials would take all necessary steps to safeguard their access to water. (Contribute photo)
