Cong. Edgar Chatto (standing, left) graced the 123rd founding anniversary celebration of Barangay Dao in Dauis on March 13, 2025. In his message, he encouraged everyone’s continued support and collaboration in the harmonious relationship of both people and nature in efforts towards the sustained growth of the barangay. The first district representative attended the event that featured a singing contest as well as an awarding activity of purok level and household level gardening competition. Cong. Edgar Chatto (left) receives a token from Department of Tourism Regional Director Judy Gabato (right) during a recent courtesy visit here in the province. Gabato updated Chatto on recent tourism data which showed 7,517,450 tourist arrivals in the region. This is based on tourists’ overnight stay data gathered from the accommodation establishments and provincial, city, and municipal tourism offices. This is an 80% recovery rate for the industry compared to pre-pandemic numbers in 2019. Chatto, who authored the Tourism Act of 2009, expressed commitment towards tourism initiatives that will boost economic activity in Bohol and the whole region. Contributed photo
