UB VDTALC and Quipper Philippines Host Two-Day Skills Enhancement Program 

for High School Students

University of Bohol Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center Senior High School (UB VDTALC Senior High), in partnership with Quipper Philippines Inc., successfully conducted a two-day skills enhancement program for High School students from Quipper member schools in Bohol on February 27–28, 2025, at the UB VDTALC Mini Theater.

This two-day collaborative initiative of the University of Bohol Marketing Department and Quipper Philippines Inc., is designed to enhance leadership skills, teamwork, and personal development among High School students. It provided valuable insights, mentorship, and hands-on experiences to empower the next generation of leaders in Bohol. 

The first day of the program featured the 1st Bohol Quipper Schools Research Congress, an academic gathering designed to immerse students in research methodologies and best practices. The event provided students the opportunity to learn from experts across various fields through keynote speeches and interactive sessions focused on research writing, data analysis, and publication.

Keynote Speakers and Topics included, Dr. Leah Wilfreda Echavez Pilongo, Dean of UB Graduate School and concurrent Dean of UB Research Center – “Research, Lead, Transform: The Pathway to Excellence in Basic Education”; Ms. Micah V. Bornea, UB VDTALC Senior High Research Center – “Helpful Ways in Taking the First Steps Toward Thesis Writing: A Classroom Teacher’s Perspective and Strategies”; Mr. Mehulbai Dabhi, UB Senior Research Associate, UB Research Center – “Research Ethics”; Ms. Medalyn D. Dolauta, MAT-Math – “Statistics, Data Gathering, and Data Interpretation”; Engr. Victor John L. Anunciado, PCpE – “Helpful AI Tools in Thesis Writing”; Mr. Angelo P. Yuayan, Research Associate, UB Research Center – “Research Publication”;  and Criminologist Ronald V. Acog, LPT – “Thesis Oral Defense and Research Presentation: Actual Classroom Dynamics and Strategies”

The second day highlighted the 1st Quipper Schools Leadership Congress and Team-Building 2025, which aimed to inspire and equip students with leadership skills while fostering unity and teamwork. Participants engaged in sessions designed to enhance their confidence, accountability, and communication abilities.

Keynote Speakers and Topics were,  Dr. Lemuel O. Belarmino, UB Dean of Student Personnel Services – “Research, Lead, Transform: The Pathway to Excellence in Education”; Mr. James Emmanuel Tabigue, Head, UB Marketing and Community Extension Services – “Taking on Leadership and Accountability at the Basic Education Level”; Miss Sophia Antoinne L. Gantalao, UB SSG President, SY 2024-2025 – “Communication as a Powerful Tool in Leadership: A Student Leader’s Perspective”;  Miss Hannah Adellit B. Rodriguez, UB Grade School Principal and Philippine Delegate for Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP) 2023 – “Developing Leadership Skills for the Future”;  and Mr. Jerylouie B. Iter, UB Senior High School Alumnus and Student Leader – “The Power of Teamwork and Cooperation in Leadership. 

The event gathered students from 24 Quipper member schools and invited schools from all over the province, including: University of Bohol VDTALC Senior High School, Bohol Child Headstart, Bohol Wisdom School, Carmel Academy, Holy Cross Academy, Holy Family of Nazareth School, Holy Rosary Academy, Holy Trinity Academy of Loay, Immaculata High School, Immaculate Mary Academy, Mater Dei College, Presentation of Mary in Clarin School, Sacred Heart Academy, Saint Vincent Institute, Salus Institute of Technology, San Agustin Academy, St. Anthony Academy of Carmen, St. John the Baptist Academy, St. Nicholas Academy, Tagbilaran Grace Christian School, Blessed Harvest School – Loay, Bohol , University of Bohol – Loon Institute and University of Bohol – Junior High School
