A woman worth all the praises which words could muster

Maria Victoria Hontucan Bolos, President of the Dauis Women’s Association has just been adjudged as Outstanding Woman Leader of the 1st District of Bohol during the 2025 Provincial Women’s Congress at the Bohol Cultural Center on March 20, 2025.
The people of Dauis are very proud of her! Below is a letter sent by the members of the Dauis Women’s Association when they nominated their president for the honors.
“ We are writing to wholeheartedly nominate Maria Victoria H. Bolos, a remarkable individual from Biking, Dauis, Bohol, for the award. As members of the group who have had the privilege of witnessing her tireless efforts and selfless dedication to community service, we can confidently attest that she embodies the very spirit of this recognition.
Marivic’s impressive track record of community service spans over two decades, with a particular focus on empowering women and promoting community development. As the president of the Biking Women’s Association since 1999, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of countless individuals and families. Notably, under her leadership, the association has established a bigasan (rice center) and a canteen near Biking Technical Vocational High School, providing economic opportunities and supporting the local community.
Her commitment to public service extends far beyond her work with the Biking Women’s Association. Marivic is also the president of the Dauis Federated Women’s Association and the Vice-President of the Bohol Women Association, demonstrating her ability to collaborate and lead at various levels. Furthermore, her involvement in the education sector, including her tenure as PTA president and her current role as president of the School Governance Council in Biking, Dauis, underscores her passion for promoting quality education and improving student outcomes.

Marivic’s remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to community service make her an exemplary candidate for this recognition. We strongly believe that she embodies the values and principles that this award/position seeks to honor.”
The awardee received greetings of joy and appreciation from her husband: Nicasio M. Bolos, Jr. (+); her children: Nichol Marie – Leo Abrigos, Joana Marie H. Bolos, Marie Nickie – Julius Gregory Delgado, Samson – Stacalee Bolos, and her grandchildren Kiara Allyson, Elyanah Elize, Teo Nicasio, Katara Vianson, and Nicko Gregory.
