Helping others in their time of need is an excellent way to connect with community.
This is what Cong. Edgar Chatto continues to champion.
Re-elected as chair of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines-Bohol Chapter (BSP-Bohol), Chatto took oath along with fellow officers and new Council Scout Executives before Judge Jennifer Chavez-Marcos last March 21, 2025.
Chatto is consistently saying that he is always ready, able and willing to serve in a voluntary capacity when his help is needed.
Council officers also include Rene Relampagos (1st vice chairman); Malvin Misael Torralba (2nd vice chairman); Rodney Lumuthang (council treasurer); Lorna Arances (assistant council treasurer); George Lim (council auditor); Diosdado Gementiza (assistant council auditor); Dr. Fay Luarez (council scout commissioner); Dr. Wilfreda Bongalos (council scout commissioner) and Hermes Angoy (secretary/council scout executive.
Volunteering in civic organizations, such as in BSP-Bohol, extends assistance to the local community, positively impacting others as well as allowing personal growth, as in scouting where values such as integrity, trustworthiness, loyalty, helpfulness, and respect are espoused.
BSP-Bohol also fosters communication, guidance and leadership especially among the youth with youth formation and leadership training as well as talent shows.
The council has been steadfast in its initiatives, earning top honors at national level over the years.
In 2024, BSP-Bohol topped Scout Membership Against Potential and Goal, and Community Service Activities in the Eastern Visayas Region.
It was also recognized for exemplary performance in and 2nd place in Scout Advancement, testaments to the council’s hard work and dedication to the movement.
