Incumbent Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado holds a commanding lead in the latest Bohol Poll 2025 survey, conducted by Holy Name University’s (HNU) Center for Research and Publication, with results released on April 4, 2025, during a public presentation.
Aumentado secured 80 percent of voters’ preference, far ahead of his closest rival, former Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim, who garnered six percent, and Hardy Leopando, who trailed with two percent.
The survey, conducted from March 6 to 29, 2025, polled 400 respondents across Bohol, with 100 from each of the province’s three districts and 100 from Tagbilaran City. It carries a margin of error of ±5 percent province-wide, ±10 percent in Tagbilaran City and Districts 2 and 3, and ±7 percent in District 1.
Eleven percent of respondents remain undecided ahead of the May 12, 2025, elections.
Aumentado’s strongest support came from his bailiwick, the second district, where he polled 90 percent, while Lim and Leopando each scored two percent, with six percent undecided.
In the third district, Aumentado earned 79 percent, followed by Lim with four percent and Leopando with three percent, with 14 percent undecided.
In the first district, he secured 74 percent, Lim 13 percent, and Leopando zero percent, with 13 percent undecided.
In the vice-gubernatorial contest, Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) Bohol chapter president Nick Besas and former Board Member Gerry Garcia are locked in a statistical tie.
Besas polled 31 percent and Garcia 28 percent, while Santos Abella trailed with 11 percent.
Thirty percent of voters remain undecided. Besas scored 32 percent in the first district, 24 percent in the second, and 30 percent in the third, while Garcia polled 21 percent, 43 percent, and 34 percent, respectively.
Abella recorded nine percent, 16 percent, and eight percent across the districts.
In the first district’s congressional race, challenger John Geesnell Yap leads with 50 percent, followed by incumbent Representative Edgar Chatto with 26 percent, lawyer Jordan Pizarras with 12 percent, and Marybelle de la Serna at the bottom.
Fourteen percent of voters were undecided or declined to respond.
In the second district, incumbent Representative Maria Vanessa Aumentado dominates with 89 percent, dwarfing opponent Modesto Membreve’s five percent, with six percent refusing to answer.
The third district mirrors this trend, with incumbent Representative Kristine Alexie Tutor, daughter of Nick Besas, leading at 77 percent against lawyer McAldous Castañares’ 13 percent, and 10 percent of respondents undecided.
In Tagbilaran City, incumbent Mayor Jane Yap holds a strong lead with 54 percent over Councilor Atoy Torralba’s 25 percent, with 21 percent of respondents undecided.
In the vice-mayoral race, incumbent Vice Mayor Adam Jala commands 61 percent, followed by Jose Antonio Veloso with 13 percent and Geniston Balbin with 10 percent. Sixteen percent of voters remain undecided or did not respond.
