Hollywood action superstar Jason Statham is back on a mission to rescue a girl from a Russian mafia human trafficking in David Ayer’s latest action thriller, “A Working Man”, now showing at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.  

          Based on the 2014 novel “Levon’s Trade” by Chuck Dixon, “A Working Man” stars Statham as a former soldier turned construction worker who is trying to be a good family man after grieving the loss of his wife and attempting to get custody of their daughter. He just left behind a decorated military career being a Marine Commando in the black ops to live a simple life.  

          But when the daughter of his boss, who is like a family to him, is kidnapped by Russian mob and sold into their sex trafficking operation, he must infiltrate himself into the Chicago underworld populated by the Russian mafia, led by crime lord Wolo Kolisnyk. His search to bring her home uncovers a world of corruption far greater than he ever could have imagined.

A gangster twin returns to their hometown only to be faced with an evil force in Ryan Coogler’s supernatural thriller, “Sinners”, which will premiere on Wednesday, April 16, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.  

              Set in 1932, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, notorious local twin brothers Smoke and Stack (Michael B. Jordan) are trying to leave their troubled lives behind after working for Al Capone for many years in Chicago. As they return home to start again, they discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

        One night during a juke joint’s opening party, their cousin performs a mind-blowing song so powerful that it transcends space and time, and catches the attention of the red-eyed fanged vamp Remmick (Jack O’Connell) and his fellow bloodsucking Irish musicians who want invites to the party. As Samuel plays his guitar and sings, dancers and singers, are turning into vampires, while the rest fight for survival over one very bloody night.

“SINNERS” will premiere on Wednesday, April 16, at Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall.

bare Holy Week mall hours 

In solemn observance of the Holy Week, Island City Mall, Alturas Mall, Alta Citta, Plaza Marcela, as well as the Alturas stores in Panglao, Talibon, and Tubigon, are open, except on Good Friday, April 18, when all stores are closed wholeday.  

        On Holy Thursday, April 17, Island City Mall, Plaza Marcela, and Alturas-Panglao are open until 3 pm, while Alturas-Tubigon and Alturas-Talibon are until 2 pm. 

         Alturas Mall Supermarket is also open until 3 pm, on Holy Thursday, but the Home & Fashion Department and all tenants from 2nd to 5th floor are only until 2 pm. Alta Citta tenants are until 3 pm, but its Supermarket and Medicine+ pharmacy are until 10 pm.          

All the malls and stores of the Alturas Group of Companies will resume regular operating hours on Black Saturday, April 19.      

         For moviegoers, Screenville Cinemas of Island City Mall and Alturas Mall are both closed on Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Regular showing will resume on Black Saturday, with the showing of “King of Kings.”     

Jollibee also bares its store hours on Holy Thursday, as follows: Jollibee-Island City Mall (6 am-3 pm), Jollibee-Alturas Mall (6 am-3 pm), Jollibee-Alta Citta (closed at 1 AM), Jollibee-Plaza Marcela (7 am-3 pm), Jollibee-CPG Drive Thru (6 am-11 pm), Jollibee-Panglao (6 am-1 am), and Jollibee-Talibon (6 am-4 pm).     

On Good Friday, Jollibee-Alta Citta is open from 5 am-1 am, Jollibee-CPG Drive-thru from 8 am-12 mn, and Jollibee-Panglao from 7 am-1 am. The rest of the Jollibee stores are closed. Normal business hours resume on Black Saturday, with the     

         Meanwhile, on Easter Sunday, April 20, events happening at the Island City Mall are the Easter egg hunt at 10 am, followed by a magic show at 11:30 am, Easter egg painting at 1 pm, and egg games at 1:30 pm.  

         For every minimum purchase worth P1,000 in any department and tenant shops of Island City Mall, a customer is entitled to one coupon to let his/her child join the Easter egg hunting. Just present the receipt dated from April 1 to 12, at the A1 Card Desk. Only the first 300 customers who registered can join the egg hunting.       

        For the egg painting contest, just present at the A1 Card Desk any receipt worth P1,500 from the Supermarket, Home & Fashion Department, or any mall tenants of ICM, dated from April 1 to 12. Participants must be in pair and limited to 12 only.
