Tagbilaran set for Saulog weekday highlights

The City Government of Tagbilaran is gearing up for the highlights of the Saulog 2025 celebration with a lineup of major cultural and youth-centered events, including the Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2025 Coronation Night on April 23, followed by the Festival King and Queen 2025 pageant on April 25. Both events will be held at 7:00 PM at the Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium.

The Mutya sa Tagbilaran pageant will see 15 official candidates, each representing one of the city’s barangays, compete for the crown in a grand showcase of intelligence, advocacy, and grace. The coronation night will be hosted by well-loved celebrity personalities Robi Domingo and Tim Yap, and will feature a high-profile panel of judges composed of internet sensation Small Laude, Miss Universe 2023 First Runner-Up Antonia Porsild, and actress, commercial model Jane De Leon and many more celebrities.

Capping off the Coronation Night is an exciting After-Party Concert featuring social media sensation Elias TV, set to bring energy and entertainment.

The concert will be held at the Island City Mall (ICM) Car Park, and is proudly presented by Wrenleys and Solane, adding an upbeat and modern celebration to the city’s cultural festivities.

Two nights later, the spotlight returns to the Bohol Wisdom School Gymnasium for the Festival King and Queen 2025 competition on April 25, where 15 pairs from the city’s barangays will parade in vibrant festival costumes.

The pageant pays
tribute to local traditions and creativity, and is one of the highlights of Saulog’s cultural program.

The City Government of Tagbilaran, led by Mayor Jane  Yap, continues to support events that uplift local talent, celebrate cultural heritage, and empower the youth.

OSCA reaffirms commitment to senior citizens through monthly barangay meetings

Tagbilaran City — The Office of the Senior Citizen’s Affairs (OSCA) of the City Government of Tagbilaran continues to bring its services closer to the elderly population through the regular conduct of monthly meetings with senior citizens’ associations across the city’s 15 barangays.

These sessions serve as vital avenues for disseminating information, providing policy updates, and fostering community engagement among senior citizens, as well as an opportunity to raise concerns and share suggestions to enhance their well-being.

For the month of April, several barangays have already successfully conducted their meetings.

TipTip and Booy held their gatherings on the first Wednesday of the month, April 2, while Poblacion 3 followed with its scheduled meeting on April 4.

 San Isidro and Poblacion 2 held their respective sessions on April 11, as part of the second Friday schedule.

Lindaville Subdivision also conducted its meeting on April 2, Barangay Dampas on April 10 while Barangay Manga conducted its meeting on April 14.

Looking ahead, more barangays are scheduled for their meetings throughout the remainder of the month. Dao will have its meeting on April 22, followed by Poblacion 1, Barangay Ubujan on April 23, and Barangay Bool will have its share on April 21.
Cogon and Cabawan are set to hold theirs on April 25. Taloto’s meeting is scheduled for April 29, followed by Mansasa on April 30.

Barangay Manga is also expected to conduct its meeting on April 14.

Other barangays including Bool, Poblacion 1, Dampas, Ubujan, Lindaville, and others follow their regular monthly schedules.

OSCA, with the support of the City Government, continues to uphold the welfare of senior citizens by ensuring that these monthly meetings are not only consistent but also meaningful.

These sessions reflect the city’s strong commitment to participatory governance and the empowerment of every Tagbilaranon, regardless of age.

All senior citizens are encouraged to attend their scheduled barangay meetings to stay informed, engaged, and involved in community life.

The City Government recognizes the unwavering spirit and contributions of its elderly sector and vows to continuously support initiatives that promote their dignity, health, and active involvement in building a more inclusive and responsive Tagbilaran.
