
LGU Danao, Bohol successfully hosted its 2nd Fire Olympics 2025 as the highlight of the Fire Prevention Month. Organized by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Danao, Bohol Station and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Danao, the event took place at the Danao Oval Grounds, emphasizing the significance of fire safety awareness and preparedness in the community. The competition brought together fire volunteer participants from four secondary schools: Danao National High School, Cantubod National High School, Francisco Dagohoy Memorial High School, and Taming National High School. Meanwhile, teams from Barangay Poblacion, Magtangtang, Hibalé and Remedios competed in the Barangay Category. A Poster Making was also held, engaging elementary and secondary school students in showcasing their creativity under the theme “Sa Pag-Iwas sa Sunog, Di ka Nag-iisa”. Additionally, a Tug of War Competition was introduced for both schools and barangays, adding a fun and competitive element to the event. The event was graced by several notable guests, including GSO Designate Mrs. Belen P. Signe, who delivered a speech on behalf of Municipal Mayor Hon. Jose G. Cepedoza (inset, upper right corner). Torregosa, and the Punong Barangays of the participating communities were present. In his speech, SFO3 Filomeno A. Resane expressed appreciation for the increasing number of participants, emphasizing the vital role of students and barangays in strengthening fire safety advocacy and community resilience.
