From the Outside Looking In

A WISE CHOICE

Difficult as it is, we must be discerning in our choices. Come election day we must learn to vote wisely and well.

But how do we do it? Should we go for the well-known, popular types or those with a political pedigree  who come from a family of politicians?

Should we vote for  those who are reformists, liberals or conservatives?

Whosoever we vote for, we should never vote based on money or financial considerations. If we want to bring about change , we must start with ourselves.

What is despicable is we have been used to playing a game where goons, guns and gold matter . Our politics is as dirty as it can get.

Yet we must not lose ourselves in hopelessness and resignation, no matter how desperate the circumstances seem. We must strive to find the light at the end of the tunnel.

Though most politicians are of the same breed, there are those less  passionate about public service than others. There are also those less prone to the temptations  of  corruption and power.

In the absence of the best, the good will suffice and  if confronted with a lot of wicked personalities,  the lesser evil could be the right choice.

Before we make up our minds to vote, let us pray for guidance and  discern our judgment . Let us do so with the greater good in mind!
