Tribu Ubujanon reclaims glory as ritual showdown champion in Saulog Tagbilaran 2025

In a stunning display of cultural pride and artistic excellence, Tribu Ubujanon of Barangay Ubujan reclaimed its crown as Champion of the Ritual Showdown Competition in Saulog Tagbilaran 2025, held on April 27, 2025.

The event brought the streets and stage to life as 15 barangays competed in a celebration of faith, heritage, and community spirit.

The Ritual Showdown captivated spectators at the CPG Sports Complex, where contingents presented choreographed performances filled with devotion and artistry.

Ubujan’s emotionally charged and visually striking presentation earned them not only the championship title but also the Best in Music and Best in Choreography awards—further affirming their dominance in this year’s competition.

Barangay Tiptip secured 2nd place, followed by Poblacion II in 3rd, Taloto in 4th, and Manga in 5th.

Meanwhile, Poblacion II emerged as the Champion in the Street Dancing Competition, which featured dynamic performances along CPG Avenue. Ubujan came in 2nd, followed by Bool, Poblacion III, and San Isidro.

City Mayor Jane Yap extended her heartfelt thanks to the generous sponsors, the expert panel of judges, and the thousands of Tagbilaranons who showed unwavering support throughout the Saulog festivities.

“Saulog Tagbilaran is more than just a competition—it is a reflection of our devotion to Sr. San Jose, our heritage, and our unity as a city,” Mayor Yap said.

A total of 15 barangays showcased their rich traditions through costumes, props, and storytelling, with dancing stations along CPG Avenue serving as platforms for the street performances before culminating in the highly anticipated ritual showdown.

Best Environmental Advocacy – Barangay Dao

Most Lively Performer – Barangay Dampas

Most Entertaining – Barangay Mansasa

Best Artistic Director – Barangay Cogon

Best Video Support – Barangay Booy

Best Smile Award – Barangay Poblacion I

Best in Indigenous Craftsmanship – Barangay Cabawan

Most Disciplined Contingents:

The event also featured the presence of the Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2025 titleholder and her court, as well as floats and walking displays from Saulog sponsors, adding flair and grandeur to the day’s festivities.

Beyond competition, Saulog Tagbilaran 2025 served as a powerful expression of faith, unity, and pride, driven by the hard work of the Saulog Tagbilaran Working Committee, City Government staff, and volunteers whose dedication helped make the celebration a resounding success.
